About MPS

Miami Premier Soccer Club was established in 1998. The Club is guided by a dedicated group of Volunteers who generously and selflessly give countless hours of their time each year to the Girls and the Club. At Miami Premier it’s ALL ABOUT THE GIRL’s.

Miami Premier offers a year round training program designed to maximize individual talent within an emphasis on team development for girls ages U9 thru U18. Our teams train to compete at the highest levels offered in the State of Florida as well as Nationally.

COACHES
To ensure the quality of our program, Miami Premier hires dedicated coaches licensed by the USSF. Our Coaching Staff provides the highest possible level of Technical and Tactical training while fostering strong relationships with their fellow players and their families. Our Coaches take a holistic approach to player development and teach valuable life lessons about work ethic, cooperation and humility through soccer. There is NO PARENT COACHING allowed.

TRYOUTS
Open Tryouts are held in early May of every year. ALL players will tryout out for their respective age groups. Tryouts are held throughout the week, typically over 5 days. Players are asked to attend at least 3 days of tryouts so that the coaches can evaluate them over a sufficient period of time. Club Coaches in conjunction with our Director of Coaching, will evaluate players based on their skill level and athletic ability demonstrated during various training exercises and small sided games. If selected to one of our teams, a player will be asked to Register with the club via the GotSport online registration program.

TIME COMMITMENT
Training for ALL age groups begins the first week of August and continues through the end of May of the following year. Our teams train twice a week in the younger age groups (Minnies – U9) and three times a week in the older age groups (U10-U18). Regular Practices are held with their assigned team coaches. However, MPS is committed to its’ One Club concept and will occasionally have teams train with other club coaches to gain a different perspective from a different coach. Our 11v11 teams (U13-U18) will receive an additional fitness and conditioning session with our Club Fitness Specialist. We also offer Specialized Goalkeeper Training once a week with our club goalkeeping coach. Most training sessions are 1 – 2 hours in length. Training schedules and times will be determined by the Coaching staff and Coaching Director based on Park and Field availability. Weekends during League Play should be treated as Game Day’s even if games are not scheduled. Coaches reserve the right to schedule friendly scrimmages and or training sessions if deemed necessary.

LEAGUE GAMES

MPS Teams compete in the EDP Florida Competitive League, South Florida Premier League SFPL and the Miami Dade Youth Soccer League. Regular League Games typically span the length of the season. Beginning in September and finishing in May. After league games conclude in May, teams continue to train through the seasons end date.

TOURNAMENTS
All MPS teams compete in local and out of state Tournament play throughout the season. At MPS, we believe tournament play is key for development and ensuring a positive experience for both the players and families. As such, we strive to have our most competitive teams play tournaments throughout the season. Tournaments that the club has recently participated in include: Disney’s President’s Day Shootout, Disney Memorial Day Shootout, Alliance Cup – Naples, United Cup – Davie, Wellington Shootout, Davie Shark’s Cup and the Miami Classic amongst others.

In the past, our older teams have routinely qualified and attend the highest level National Tournaments such as The CASL Showcase in Raleigh, NC; The Texas Shootout in Houston, TX; The Orange Classic, Plantation, FL; Atlanta Cup, Atlanta, GA and Norcross Nike Cup, Norcross, GA.

COSTS
Total cost varies from team to team depending on which Tournaments a particular team attends. Registration Fees and Uniform costs are the same for all age groups. Each player is responsible for their portion of their respective teams travel costs for tournament expenses. These expenses are divided equally amongst all registered players on the team.
